The Special Services at Home program helps families who are caring for a child with a developmental or physical disability. It is funded and managed by the Ministry of Community and Social Services.
The program helps families pay for special services in or outside the family home as long as the child is not receiving support from a residential program.

This is the only source for funding for diapers.
The child must be older than three and “have a chronic disability resulting in irreversible incontinence or retention problems lasting longer than 6 months requiring the use of incontinence supplies.”

If a child is referred to a specialist in Winnipeg, the family is eligible for a travel grant. The referring physician must sign and the specialist must also complete a portion. The forms are submitted and the family is reimbursed.
